Official Deschutes County Records and Custody Contacts

The Deschutes County Sheriff's Office Records Unit is located at 63333 W. Highway 20, Bend, OR 97703. Its phone number is (541) 388-6655, and its posted hours are Monday through Friday, 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. The Deschutes County Adult Jail is at the same address. For general custody questions, call (541) 388-6661; the booking line is (541) 388-6682; and the shift supervisor line is (541) 388-6687. For a non-emergency law-enforcement response, Deschutes County 9-1-1 Dispatch lists (541) 693-6911. Call 911 for an emergency.

For a records request, begin with the Sheriff's public-records request guidance. DCSO lists a police-report fee of $20 through eight pages and $1 for each additional page. Other requests receive a staff-time estimate under ORS 192.324(4)(a) and require prepayment. The office asks requesters to allow up to 21 days, with more time possible for complex or queued work. A request is reviewed for applicable exemptions and is not a promise that a requested item, especially a pre-conviction booking photo, can be released.

For an out-of-custody court-date question, contact the Deschutes County Circuit Court, 1100 NW Bond St., Bend, at (541) 388-5300. The Oregon Judicial Department records portal can provide a starting point for public case and calendar information, but the court or clerk is the appropriate source for an official answer.

Use the channel that fits the person's custody or record status:

  • For possible current Adult Jail custody, begin with the official DCSO Current Inmate List. It concerns current custody, not a complete arrest archive or a booking-photo gallery.
  • For a police report, jail-held record, or other agency record, use the Records Unit and the DCSO public-records process described above.
  • For the case after a booking, use the OJD portal and the Circuit Court. Booking allegations can change, be dismissed, or lead to a different disposition.
  • For a person in Oregon state custody or supervision, use Oregon DOC's public offender-search channel. For a federal detainee or an immigration detainee, use the relevant BOP or ICE locator rather than the county jail roster.
  • For site questions, review the About This Site and Legal Disclaimer pages. They do not replace an official agency response.
